Data Deletion Instructions
Effective 26 August 2026 · Version 1.0 (26 August 2026) · How to disconnect a connected account and how to have your Escargo data deleted.
Disconnecting Escargo from Facebook or Instagram
If you connected an Escargo business account to a Facebook Page or Instagram professional profile (for example to receive Book Now appointments), you can remove that connection at any time without deleting your Escargo account:
- In Escargo, open your business account settings and remove the Meta connection for that Page or Instagram profile.
- Separately, in Facebook or Instagram, open Meta Business Suite (or Instagram's Business settings) and remove Escargo from your connected apps or Business Integrations. This stops Escargo from receiving new bookings from that Page or profile and revokes Escargo's access on Meta's side.
Disconnecting stops future data flow between Escargo and Meta. It does not by itself delete data already stored in your Escargo account — see the deletion request below for that.
Requesting deletion from Escargo
Email hello@escargo.ie from the email address on your Escargo account with the subject line “Data deletion request”. If you signed in with Google or another provider and have no separate Escargo password, use the same email address associated with that sign-in.
What your request must contain
- The email address (or phone number, if that's how you registered) on your Escargo account.
- Whether you want your customer account, business account, or both deleted.
- If you connected Escargo to Facebook or Instagram, say so — we will also check that the connection has been removed.
How we verify the request
We confirm the request came from the account holder by replying to the email address on file and, where needed, asking you to confirm details already on your account (such as a recent booking or the vehicle registration you saved) that only the account holder would reasonably know. We do not delete an account on the strength of an unverified third-party request.
What is deleted or anonymised
Once verified, we delete or irreversibly anonymise:
- Your account credentials and profile details.
- Vehicles, providers and reviews you saved.
- Booking, quote and message content that identifies you personally.
- Any location data associated with your requests.
What we may retain
Some records cannot be deleted immediately because we are required or entitled to keep them:
- Payment and accounting records — transaction records needed for tax, accounting and financial-reporting obligations are retained for the period required by Irish law, then deleted.
- Fraud-prevention records — where an account was involved in a suspected fraudulent or abusive booking, a minimal record may be retained to prevent repeat abuse.
- Legal-obligation records — anything we are required to keep to comply with a legal obligation or respond to a lawful request from a public authority.
Retained records are restricted to the purpose above, are not used for marketing, and are deleted once the applicable retention period ends.
How long it takes
We aim to complete a verified deletion request within 30 days. If part of the request is delayed by a retention obligation described above, we will tell you which part and why.
Confirmation
Once deletion is complete we email the address on file to confirm it has been done, and confirm separately if a Meta (Facebook/Instagram) connection was also removed.
